Das ist Mae Muller

Für ESC-Gastgeber Großbritannien geht die 25-jährige Londoner Singer-Songwriterin Mae Muller ins Rennen. Die Künstlerin tauchte schon 2007 im Musikvideo zu Mikas Hit „Grace Kelly“ auf, ließ ihre Karriere dann aber ein wenig schleifen, bevor sie im Alter von 19 Jahren begann, eigene Songs zu veröffentlichen. Inzwischen gehen die Aufrufe für ihre Songs in den Streamingdiensten in die Milliarden.

Ihr Song „I Wrote a Song“ ist eine bitterböse Abrechnung mit einem untreuen und unterkomplexen Exfreund. Es ist ein Dancetrack mit eingängigem Refrain. Beim ESC tritt sie in große Fußstapfen: Im Vorjahr 2022 wurde der britische Kandidat Sam Ryder Zweiter.
